WP3
Local development for sustainable transformation: ICH in the context of new localism
WP3 objectives
By examining the development characteristics of smaller local communities, to identify the conditions for the reactivation of abandoned ICH with inclusive adapted reuse in selected smaller Slovenian local areas. We will take into account the specific conditions and incorporate principles of the new localism, such as the ICH development paradigms, in order to provide a basis for promoting the reactivation of abandoned ICH and overcoming the currently prevailing "spontaneous" and broadly uncoordinated individual local initiatives, which usually do not achieve the appropriate effects, but introduce unnecessary contradictions and conflicts, as they strongly emphasize the values of only one stakeholder (or a narrower range of stakeholders) in the area.
The activities are divided into two sub-packages, WP3-A1 and WP3-A2.
WP3-A1
In order to understand which model of community participation is appropriate for different types of cultural heritage (in general and in the Slovenian context), this activity will first examine, review and compare existing models presented in the relevant literature. Based on the qualitative analyses carried out in WP2, we will then identify, classify and define the positive and negative social impacts of KD relevant for key stakeholders in local communities.
WP3-A2
In this activity, we will first analyse the key stakeholders and their roles in the ICH development process in the four selected local settings through various qualitative (interviews, participant observation, text analysis) and quantitative methods (semi-structured questionnaires on a large sample of people). In doing so, we will use individual case studies to elaborate in more detail an organigram (development-type model) for the management of ICH in each location, and consequently identify problematic aspects of ICH management.
