Introductory conference

In April 2023, the Faculty of Architecture of UL hosted the kick-off conference of the national research project Heritage for Inclusive Sustainable Transformation - HEI-Transform (ARRS-J7-4641).

The conference presented the project and the preliminary results of the first research, and invited experts contextualised the relevance of the project's objectives and heritage in the processes of sustainable transformation and green transition in Slovenia.

The keynote speaker was Prof. Dr. Christer Gustafsson, one of the world's leading experts in the field of research on the role of heritage in achieving green transformation, and a member of the international advisory board of the HEI-Transform research project.

Glossary of key terms in the field of sustainable protection of immovable cultural heritage

The work in the experimental laboratories, which took place in areas of immovable cultural heritage with no corresponding use, produced fundamental research on the local environments of municipalities, their relationship to heritage and the possibilities for integrating it into the contemporary life of local communities. For each of the heritage sites under consideration, three concrete project proposals for implementing these options have also been developed.
